I started taking Essiac as soon as I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2012.  My oncologist was not familiar with Essiac.   He was curious and wanted to know more.  I offered him the book, I Want to Live Using Essiac.  My oncologist was fine with me taking the tea, he just instructed me not to take it with surgery.

I also informed my nutritionist.  My nutritionist’s response to my taking Essiac was that he did not think it would hurt, but did not know if it would help.  His main question was how did I feel about taking it and of course my response was I wanted to take it.  I wanted to prevent reoccurrence.  Really, the biggest factor in my decision to take Essiac was my desire to do everything I could to prevent reoccurrence.

I knew of a friend’s positive results with Essiac.  And I was aware of others who had dire diagnoses.  They started taking tea after their diagnoses and have not had a reoccurrence.

Essiac was very important in my recovery plan, as well as other changes such as limiting hormone containing foods, exercising regularly, and eliminating stress.  Essiac and these other life changes help me to take my power back.  I absolutely recommend it to other individuals with a diagnosis of cancer.  I continue to take Essiac, a dose in the morning and one at night, as a preventative therapy.

If I could make one suggestion to anyone recently diagnosed with cancer it would be, educate yourself as much as you can to prevent reoccurrence.

I am eighty-three years old.  On December 6, 1999, I found out I had prostate cancer, stage 4.  I decided to take enzymes and have my prostate taken out.  The doctor, one of the top ten urologists in New Jersey, wanted me to take chemo and radiation and I instantly said no.  The reason is I had a wife and daughter who both died of cancer.  Both had chemo and radiation.

I started taking Essiac tea in January 2000.  As it happened I was talking to a cocktail waitress who told me about the tea.  Later in 2000 I went off all traditional medicine.  I have been taking Essiac daily, once in the morning and once at night for almost fourteen years.  I make the tea myself and make six to eight bottles at a time.  I am cancer free and now married to a lovely lady.

I have enthusiastically recommended Essiac to hundreds of people.  My daughter also takes Essiac as a preventive.

I love the book; the research just solidified my belief and my experience with Essiac tea.

You have to be a believer that it works.  I am a believer.

Bill is an eighty-year-old gentleman (soon to be 81).  In June 2010, he developed symptoms of a dry cough, weakness, and overall achiness.  His thoughts were that he had the flu or pneumonia.  After an X-ray and both PET & CAT scans, a spot was discovered in his lower left lung and an irregular looking lymph node outside the lung near the esophagus.  In July of 2010, at Johns Hopkins Medical Center, a biopsy of his lung and lymph node confirmed that he had stage 3a non-small cell lung cancer.

Statistically speaking Bill had a life expectancy between 10 to 15 months survival rate.

Bill began chemotherapies, then surgery to remove lower left lobe and 20 lymph nodes, radiation, more chemo, a filter for a pulmonary embolism, more chemo and radiation.

In January 2011, his niece told him about an herbal tea called Essiac.  She sent him three bottles and Bill started taking it immediately.  Today Bill states, “I’m still alive… for almost 4 ½ years….that’s much better than 10 months!”  Bill’s wife, Linda of 25 years, reports that Bill has shown great strength and determination throughout his ordeal and has approached every step with an “amazingly positive attitude, wit, and humor.”

In Jan 2013, Bill had headaches and it was discovered that he had a golf ball size brain tumor.  He underwent brain surgery followed by Cyber Knife radiation in February.  In November, a secondary tiny tumor was found above where the first tumor was and he had Cyber Knife radiation once more.

Bill states, “I love my life and I love my wife and I’ll do whatever it takes to prolong my time as long as possible!” Linda states, “to this day, Bill drinks six ounces every morning before breakfast and believes it has aided him in bouncing back and keeping his cancer under control.”

"It is with great reget that we report that Bill has passed away. We truly thank him, and his wonderful wife Linda, for sharing their experience with all of us."

 Essiac as a Preventative Therapy

I first heard about Essiac tea seven years ago.  I’ve been taking it ever since.  Both of my parents had cancer.  My dad died of lung cancer when he was only 61 years old and my mom is a twenty-three year survivor of breast cancer.  Because of my family history, and due to the fact that I am a personal trainer, I am quite passionate about health, cancer prevention, and alternative treatments.  There is so much compelling evidence concerning the efficacy of Essiac.  I wish more people would consider learning more about it and take it for themselves.

Caroline Bennett’s book, I Want to Live Using Essiac, is an excellent resource.  I use Essiac daily as part of my supplement regimen.  It’s easy, there are no risks or side effects, and it’s very affordable.  I believe Essiac tea is the best defense as a preventative measure and it gives me great piece of mind to take it.  I have a lot of confidence in it because of the evidence for it.
